The State of Connecticut Website, known as ConneCT, is provided as a public service. The site is managed by the ConneCT Management Advisory Committee (CMAC). This committee is a collaborative effort between agencies and organizations across all branches of government and Connecticut's institutions of public higher education. CMAC is coordinated by the Office of Policy and Management (OPM) and sponsored by the Department of Information Technology (DOIT).
Our goals for the development of this site are:
- To provide an Internet gateway or portal that offers the user links to the information they want such as state services, economic development and tourism information, legislative information, and more.
- To improve public access to government information, programs and services;
- To provide users with the best web experience possible by anticipating what the user is looking for and to lead them to transactions.
- To provide a mechanism for state government to become more efficient, effective, and responsive to the public through the use of online business transaction applications;
- To provide a tool to improve cross-agency or cross-boundary organizational collaboration activity on significant policy and/or administrative issues among Connecticut State government employees.
- To foster partnerships with commercial portals so that citizens who prefer to conduct all their business through their regular startup portal would not have to visit the state web site to handle their business.
- In the future, users may identify themselves, manually or automatically, and the web site will provide information and choices personalized for each user.
